Karen Tse is a member of Emmanuel Church, Geneva,Switzerland, part of the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe, of which I am Bishop in charge.

She is one of many, many people in our congregations who make a difference in the world.

And our congregations make a difference too. The Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity, Paris, France, made Christmas a bit brighter for 2,835 children, for example. Though it is the largest congregation of the four Anglican jurisdictions in Europe, that is over 2 boxes per member! Then there is the program of Christ-the-King, Frankfurt, Germany, which helps U.S. deportees to Germany make a life in that country. And of course, St. Paul’s-Within-the Walls, Rome, has the only daytime refugee center in the entire Eternal City.

In fact, every one of our congregations has people who have discovered God’s unique call to them and accepted it, to participate in the Holy Spirit’s transformation of creation. And each community is doing something unique as well to touch people who are not their members, in the power of the same Spirit.

I am so proud to be their bishop... and humbled as well.
